Transactional messaging

SureAppoint SMS Consent

SureAppoint sends transactional appointment-policy links on behalf of healthcare practices. These messages are not used for marketing.

How consent is collected

  1. Practice staff schedule the patient's appointment.
  2. Staff ask the patient verbally whether they agree to receive the appointment-policy link by SMS.
  3. If the patient agrees, staff explicitly select Text in SureAppoint and confirm the verbal consent before the message can be sent.

Entering a phone number alone does not authorize SMS.

Example staff wording

“May we text you a secure link to review the office's appointment policy?”

If the patient agrees, staff selects Text and confirms:

☐ Text

If the patient does not agree, staff uses Email or “I'll send it myself.”
